Marc S. Spiegel, DPM

Podiatric Physician and Surgeon

 

Dr. Spiegel is board qualified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He joined Needham Podiatry after completing his surgical training at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, a level one trauma center, and teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School. Here, Dr. Spiegel served as chief resident as well as held an appointment of Clinical Fellow in Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
 

Throughout his post-graduate education Dr. Spiegel received comprehensive training in orthopedic, vascular, and plastic surgery, as well as emergency and internal medicines. He has worked with world renown endocrinologists from the Joslin Diabeties Center and was also was given the opportunity to extend his medical involvement internationally, traveling to South America to perform surgical reconstruction on patients with severe lower extremity deformities. Dr. Spiegel is conservatively minded but well trained in all aspects of foot surgery. He is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society.

Dr. Spiegel obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiological Sciences (the study of mechanics of body movement) from the University of Maryland in College Park. Here, his interest in sports medicine was ignited after landing a job with the college’s athletic department, granting him an all access pass to Maryland’s sport teams, including the 2001 Men’s National Championship basketball team. From there, Dr. Spiegel received his medical degree (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Spiegel is originally from Morristown, NJ and currently resides in Westwood, MA.  He enjoys travel, photography, tennis, anything on the water and of course the sporting culture that is Boston.
